Sunday Stories with Doug Force
Sunday, Sept 17 2 pm
Join Doug Force as he shares the history and great oral story tradition associated with the fur trapping and trading era of our country.
Appearing in costume, Doug will provide a brief historical context for the life and work of a Mountain Man in the wilds of the Rocky Mountains as well as the tall tale reflections of those intrepid woodsmen for a one hour historical session.
This month’s presentation focuses on the importance of having a partner to depend on through thick and thin. These campfire tales will highlight the unusual advantages and disadvantages of a teaming in the early 1800’s in soon to be America .
The event is FREE to the public, though donations are accepted to support the work of the Cultural Center. Refreshments will be served during a short intermission. Questions are welcome and audience participation is encouraged.
