Adult Clay night with Open Studio

Develop your clay skills in a friendly community ceramics studio. Beginners and long-time clay lovers work side by side to make handbuilt and wheel thrown work. Bring in your own ideas or choose from suggestions. Demonstrations may include making dishes on the wheel, slab construction and surface design techniques.

A variety of Cone 6 clays and glazes are available for electric firings and are included in the class and material cots. Raku firings and testing to the ga kiln with reduction effets are possible, depending on interest and weather.

Instruction is available during Tuesday night class time. Enrolled students enjoy ope studio access during Cultural Center hours (Wednesday to Mondays, 10am - 4pm, closed Tuesdays)

Age 16+  -  All levels of experience welcome

Holiday Season class Nov 14 & 28, Dec 5, 12 & 19  6-8:30pm 

Cost:  $45

8-week class begins again Tuesday, January 9

Open Studio -- Daily Fee

For those with some previous experience who would like to drop in and use the studio but not receive instruction. Ideal for thos who are staying in the area (a week or just a few days). 

Cost $15 + cost of materials per day. Arrangement cn be made for available days/times and to pick up finished work

Private Instruction

For those looking to improve their skils in a individual setting and receive one-on-one instruction. Open to all levels. For age 16 and up.

Cost: $25/hour + cost of materials

Special Events and Activities

The studio is happy to host opportunities to support artistic growth and community. Potential activities include workshops with visiting artists or to focus on specific techniques, studio visits, ceramic sales and social gatherings.

Please note:

  • ​For the safety of equipment and everyone's work, use of studio clay and glazes in required, except by special permission.
  • The studio is not equipped to support production potters, but for the exploration and enjoyment of clay.
